EXEN jailed, fined for corruption

LAHORE: An accountability court on Wednesday handed down seven-year imprisonment with a fine of Rs163 million to executive engineer (EXEN) Tariq Saeed for having illegal assets beyond known sources of income.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) launched investigation against the EXEN on the complaint regarding allegation of having illegal assets beyond his known sources of income.

The NAB said the assets owned by the convict included two plots measuring two kanals and 10 marla, a farmhouse on Raiwind Road, a six-kanal house in Lahore, two shops in Gulberg, an 18-kanal plot in Murree and four luxury cars.

During the course of investigation against the accused, all of his assets were confiscated by the NAB under the National Accountability Ordinance.

Convict Tariq Saeed was posted in the Lahore district council as EXEN and by misusing his powers he managed to pile up huge assets.
