SUKKUR: Part of rail track found missing

SUKKUR, Aug 27: The Khyber Mail and the Chenab Express narrowly escaped accidents as one-and-a-half-foot-long railway track was found missing near the Mando Dero railway station on Wednesday morning.

All up and down trains were stopped at different railway stations and allowed to proceed to their respective destinations after three hours of their schedule.

On Tuesday night, the railway track was found damaged near the Machi Goth railway station.

Railway officials said more than one foot piece of the track was missing on the down track which also affected up and down passenger trains.

Railways divisional superintendent Yaqoob Zardari ruled out any possibility of a terrorist act. He said an inquiry had been ordered into the matter.
