Factory worker electrocuted

SHEIKHUPURA: A worker was electrocuted in a factory located on Lahore Road here on Sunday.

According to Factory Area police, Hanif was working in the factory where he suffered severe electric shock and died instantly.

The labour union president Mian Anwar said the electrical system in the factory was in a shambles but the management did not do anything to rectify it, resulting in the worker’s death. The union demanded financial compensation for the deceased worker’s family.

The police are looking into the matter.

KILLED: A man was killed and two others injured in a fog-related accident on Lahore Road on Sunday.

According to police, a Lahore-bound bus collided with a van, resulting in instant death of a van passenger, identified as Aslam.

Two others — Shafqat and Muzaffar — sustained serious injuries in the accident. They were shifted to hospital. Factory Area police said the accident was a result of poor visibility caused by fog.
