Three security men injured in Bannu blast

BANNU: Three security personnel and three civilians were injured in a motorcycle bomb explosion near a bridge here on Sunday.

The remote-controlled device fitted to the motorcycle went off when a security convoy was passing through the area, officials said.

The convoy was going to Bannu from Frontier Region Janikhel, they said.

The wounded were identified as Subedar Shabbir, Safeer and Lance Naik Ejaz, and civilians Sher Zaman, Arab Din and Siffatullah.

They were taken to the Combined Military Hospital, Bannu.

Later, security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation. However, no arrest was reported till late night.

According to APP, seven people, including four civilians, suffered injuries in the blast that happened in the Meryan area.
