Projects worth Rs14 billion approved for GB

GILGIT: Gilgit-Baltistan Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) on Wednesday approved 73 projects in various sectors, costing over Rs14 billion.

Of the approved projects, 18 would be executed in the education sector, 13 in power and nine in health sector.

Other projects relate to the infrastructure development like roads and bridges.

The DDWP meeting held in Gilgit was chaired GB planning and development department secretary Babar Amaan Babar.

The meeting also discussed the 32.5MW Attabad hydropower project which would cost Rs10 billion, and decided to refer the project to the relevant forum.

Meanwhile, GB chief secretary Dr Kazim Niaz has directed preparing the PC-1 of the proposed projects to be carried out in the region.
