Muqam accuses PTI of pre-poll rigging

PESHAWAR: Adviser to the prime minister, Amir Muqam, has said that PTI has turned Chief Minister’s House into an election cell for NA-4.

Addressing a public meeting in Nasirpur area here on Sunday, he said that instructions were being issued from Chief Minister’s House to officials of various departments to use state resources for the victory of PTI candidate for the by-elections on the National Assembly seat.

He said that PTI chairman Imran Khan and his party ministers were avoiding people but the by-elections forced them to face people. On the occasion, Kamran Siddique, a senior activist of ANP, along with hundreds of his supporters joined PML-N.

Mr Muqam, who is also provincial president of PML-N, said that the provincial government of PTI was busy in pre-poll rigging but it would face historical defeat. He said that in the Peshawar’s public meeting, Imran Khan levelled allegations against politicians but he failed to offer condolence to those people, whose relatives died of dengue fever.

The PML-N leader said that dengue had made lives of people miserable in the provincial metropolis but provincial government failed to overcome it. Referring to the claims of the PTI chief about ‘change’ in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said that it seemed as if the province was located in another developed country that was visible only to Imran Khan.

Mr Muqam said that the people, who used to oppose foreign loans in the past, were seeking loans for launching Peshawar metro project. He said that it was a proof of contradiction in words and deeds of PTI leadership.

He said that no one would be able to befool people through social media drives as people knew about them and wanted practical steps for a real change in their fate.
