PTI’s policy of ‘change’ has failed, says Hoti

MARDAN: Awami National Party provincial president Ameer Haider Hoti said on Wednesday that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led provincial government had failed to bring any positive change in the lives of people and instead poverty increased in the province during its rule.

He was addressing a public meeting here in Fatima area. He said that the PTI leaders had promised in the last general elections that they would bring financial stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa if the party was voted to power, but its government had failed to deliver.

“The PTI-led provincial government has proved to be a total failure,” he claimed, saying that the incumbent government had no fund for payment of salaries to its employees. He claimed that the government was constructing the Swat Expressway with loans and all its burden would be shifted to the people of the province.

Mr Hoti also hit out at the federal government of PML-N for not giving due rights to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “We accept the Punjab province as our elder brother, but it should also treat our province as its younger brother,’’ he added.

He claimed that Awami National Party would easily make its government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after winning next general elections. He said that they were fed up with the failed policies of the government.

SUSPENDED: District police officer Mian Saeed Ahmad suspended three police officials for corruption and having links with criminals.

Police sources said that the suspended officials, identified as head constables Hayat Khan and Hayat Zaman and constable Ibrarullah, had been put behind bars. They said that the action was taken following public complaints against these officials. They quoted the DPO as saying that presence of such people could not be tolerated in the police force.
