Sahibzada Ali, Hania, Eibad win national tennis titles

KARACHI: Talented Sahibzada Mohammad Ali fought a tough battle with brilliant Nauman Aftab before emerging victorious by 6-4,4-6,6-3 to win the under-18 title while brilliant Hania Naved kept her impressive record in tact by winning the under-18 girl final after defeating Zoha Aseem at the 5th Indus Pharma National Tennis Championship which concluded at Karachi Gymkhana on Friday.

Eibad Sarwar won the soft tennis final against Robin Das.

Saeed Ismail, Chairman Indus Pharma Group, was the cheif guest on the occasion and distributed cash prizes worth rupees fifty thousand besides the trophy to the winner and runner-up.

He further announced that the prizemoney for this event will be enhanced for next season.

Meanwhile, Khalid Rehamni, SVP Sindh Tennis Association, informed on the occasion that three more national junior and one KG ITF Seniors world ranking tennis championship shall be held in the remaining three month of the year.

Pakistn’s number one tennis player Aqeel Khan was also present on the occasion besides KTA chief Gulzar Feroz, STA president Khawaja Saeed Hai, NBP’s Ghulam Mohammad and Azmat Khan and PVCA’s chief Fawad Ijaz Khan.

U-18 Boys Singles (Final): Sahibzada Mohammad Ali bt Nauman Aftab 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

U-18 Girls Singles (Final): Hania Naved bt Zoha Aseem 7-5,6-2.

Soft Tennis Singles (Final) Eibad Sarwar Khan bt Robin Das 5-3.

Soft Tennis Doubles (Final): Robin Das- Zulfiqar Khan bt Ghufran Faiz + Yahya 5-1.

35-plus Doubles (Final): Janrab Ahmed-Khalid Ali Nazar bt Asad Ali Bhagat-Reza Ali Mirza 2-6,6-4, 11-9.

45-plus Singles (Final) Zulfiqar Khan bt Kaleem Ghachi 7-6, 6-1.
