‘Bike ambulances from next month’

LAHORE: The chief minister has announced launching motorcycle ambulance service in all the nine divisions of Punjab from next month.

“For the first time, timely first-aid will be available to people in congested areas where ambulances cannot reach,” said the chief minister after inaugurating the three-day PakMedica Medical, Health and Cosmetic Fair at Expo Centre here on Thursday.

Equipped with essential equipment and operated by highly trained staff, the motorcycle ambulance was being launched with the ‘worthwhile cooperation extended by the Turkish government,’ he said.

Terming the exhibition ‘a reflection of growing cooperation between Punjab and Turkish governments, Mr Shahbaz said he was thankful to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Binali Yildirim for extending all-out support for the promotion of bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially healthcare sector.

SEMINAR: A member of Turkish Parliament Burhan Kayaturk has said that more than 100 companies of his country are working in Punjab in different sectors, including energy and health.

At a seminar arranged on Thursday at Expo Centre auditorium in connection with the PakMedica Medical, Health and Cosmetic Fair, Mr Burhan urged businessmen of his country to avail themselves of investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Turkish Consul General Sirdar Deniz said more than 40 companies from his countries displayed their products at the exhibition.

Earlier, Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafiq said: “Punjab is open to foreign investment, especially in health sector.”
