PPP lawmaker demands girls college for his constituency

TIMERGARA: Pakistan People’s Party MPA from Upper Dir Sahibzada Sanaullah on Monday said despite his repeated requests the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government did not approve a girls college in his PK-93 constituency.

He was addressing a prize distribution function on the conclusion of Jashn-i-Sultankhel cricket tournament at Adoki area of Lower Dir.

He said youth should be engaged in healthy and positive activities to serve their country in a befitting manner. He said local lawmakers had neglected the area since 1970.

Mr Sanaullah demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to establish a girls degree college in his constituency and release funds for development projects. He said the government contractors openly violated the building rules without any government check.

The MPA distributed trophies and cash prizes among the players on the occasion.

Also on Monday, several political workers from Bishgram area of Maidan announced to quit their parties and join the PPP during a function which was addressed by former MPA Zamin Khan.

TRUCKS RETURNED: Additional Assistant Commissioner, Chakdara, Aleem Khan Umarzai on Monday returned several trucks loaded with substandard crackers and other food items to Mardan and Peshawar. He also raided different markets along with police and Dir Levies officials and imposed fines worth Rs35,000 on shopkeepers, bakers and butchers for violating official price list and selling standard food items. Two shopkeepers were also sent to lockup.

The raiding team also removed roadside encroachments that obstructed smooth flow of vehicular traffic.
