CDA affairs

I RECENTLY purchased a property in Islamabad. The property was fairly expensive and procured with white money. There was nothing irregular in the transaction. Heavy taxes were paid in compliance with the current tax regime.

However, my experience of dealing with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) was nothing short of harrowing. At every step their staff created all possible hurdles. Their objectives were clear.

There was no one to complain to as everyone in the CDA seems deeply entrenched in this malaise.

Property dealers dealing with the CDA on a regular basis openly acknowledge that without corruption there is no way out. The reasons are quite obvious.

My recommendations are that the government should set up a task force to deal with the menace of corruption and recruitment in all departments should be purely on merit.
