QUETTA: The death toll from the suicide blast near the Friendship Gate at the Pak-Afghan border rose to two on Tuesday as one of the victims succumbed to his injuries at the Civil Hospital.

The border with Afghanistan, which was closed after the attack, was reopened on Tuesday morning.

A 12-year-old boy was killed and 22 others were injured in the blast on Monday. Three of the critically injured were later shifted to the Quetta Civil Hospital.

A suicide bomber detonated his explosive-laden jacket near a Frontier Corps vehicle in the parking lot of the border area where people and Nato trucks wait for clearance for their onward journey.
