Police rescue kidnapped minor boy

SAHIWAL: Police rescued five-year-old Arman Usman from his captors on Monday who was kidnapped for ransom by two motorcyclists from Fateh Sher Colony on Sept 14.

Arman was kidnapped while he was coming home from school with his cousin.

His father Shaikh Usman informed Fateh Sher police which using geo-fencing tracked the captors and raided a house near City Bus Stop where Arman had been kept.

The police arrested Umer and two others in the case.

The police said kidnappers had asked Usman to allow them to run a shop on a cart push outside his shop. His refusal angered them.

PETROL: Around 40,000 litres of petrol spilled on to road and surrounding localities when an oil tanker overturned at Fato Mor on Sahiwal-Multan Road late on Sunday.

Police, Motorway police and Rescue 1122 reacted swiftly and cordon off the area to avert Ahemdpur East like disaster when around 200 people were burnt to death due to the fire erupted from the petrol spelled out from an oil tanker in June. Train traffic was also suspended for three hours.

The tanker was carrying a PSO consignment from Karachi to Sheikhupura. The traffic on the road was suspended for four fours. Ghala Mandi police arrested the driver.

​FINE: Special magistrate Rashida Batool raided shops and fined five shopkeepers Rs5,000 for overcharging vegetable buyers.

She directed shopkeepers to display vegetable and fruit price lists by the market committee.
