Amir set to return to national camp

LAHORE: Pakistan fast-bowler Mohammad Amir will return to the national camp, set to begin on Tuesday at the Gaddafi Stadium for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka, after his absence from the side following the birth of his first child last week, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said.

The left-armer missed the recently concluded three-match T20 International series against the World XI side which Pakistan won 2-1.

The Sarfraz Ahmed-led side’s next assignment is a two-match Test series against the Lankan Lions in the United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan will take on the struggling islanders in the first Test match at Abu Dhabi from September 28 before the two teams play at Dubai from October 6.

The Tests will be followed by five One-day Internationals and three T20Is, the last of which is scheduled to be held at Lahore, subject to security clearance.

Amir is expected to be in the final 15-man squad for the tour after the national selection committee named him among the 18 probables earlier.

Pakistan are expected to land at Abu Dhabi on September 24.
