Thai delegation meets sea food exporters
KARACHI: A 17-member trade delegation comprising of sea food importers from Thailand is visiting Pakistan from Sept 17-20 on the invitation of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), a press release said.
The purpose of the visit is to explore business opportunities for Pakistani sea food exporters.
In this regard, the TDAP organised an opening session at a local hotel during which DG Marine Fishing Department gave a detailed presentation on fishing laws and fishing industry of Pakistan. A B2B meeting session was also held between the delegates with their Pakistani counterparts, the press release added.
Towel association elects office-bearers
KARACHI: Khalid Iqbal was elected chairman of the Towel Manufacturers Association of Pakistan on Monday for 2017-18. Haji Muhammad Arif Dogar and Aamir Hassan Lari were elected senior vice-chairman and vice-chairman, said a press release.
1,000 Amazon jobs in southwest Ohio
MONROE: Amazon plans to locate one of its fulfillment centers in the southwest Ohio city of Monroe, bringing more than 1,000 jobs.
Ohio recently approved a 1.39 per cent, 10-year tax credit for the project, along with a tax credit for a planned fulfillment center near Cleveland that could employ 2,000 people.
The Seattle-based e-commerce giant says the Monroe center will add to more than 6,000 Amazon employees already in Ohio.
