Annoyed ‘N’ workers name poll candidate

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Muslim League-N annoyed workers on Sunday fielded Hikmat Khan Khalil as independent candidate for the by-election on NA-4 constituency here.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the disgruntled workers at the residence of former PML-N district president Abdul Sattar Khalil, according to a statement.

Hikmat Khalil had also contested elections on PK-6 in the 2008 general elections on the party ticket.

Speaking on the occasion, Sattar Khalil said the annoyed workers would not support candidature of Nasir Musazai as he was a ‘nominee’ of Amir Muqam. He said Mr Muqm had recently named new office-bearers in different districts which had caused serious unrest among the ideological and senior workers. He said the senior workers would soon convene a provincial level convention in Peshawar to discuss the prevailing situation in the party and take next line of action. He said Mr Muqam had once claimed to be a brother of Gen retired Pervez Musharraf during the military regime.
