Rally staged against Rohingya killings

PESHAWAR. Activists of Muslim Students Federation (MSF), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, on Saturday staged a protest rally against the killing of Rohingya Muslims and condemned the Myanmar government for targeting the innocent people.

The protesters were led by MSF office bearers -- Muslim Khan, Munsif Khalil, Arif Khan, Musaver Afridi, Khan Zaman Afridi and Owais Khan Shinawari. The rally started from Hashtnagri and culminated outside the press club.

The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the Myanmar government for massacring Muslims, including children and women. They were also chanting against the Myanmar government and its army.

The protesters said Muslim women, children and aged people were burnt alive and the mutilated bodies were disgraced while infants were axe to death while the United Nations was playing role of a silence spectator.

The students’ leaders said if a dog was killed in Europe and America, the whole media of these countries started crying while thousands of innocent Muslims were being subjected to violence but the media and the UN had adopted criminal silence.

Criticising the Saudi Arabia-led military alliance, they said if they could not raise voice in support of the Burmese Muslims and against Myanmar government, then the alliance was of no use. The protesters, therefore, demanded of the UN and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to play an effective role in stopping atrocities on the Rohingya Muslims.
