Misbah hints next PSL could be his final

LAHORE: Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq hinted on Thursday that the next Pakistan Super League (PSL) could be his final.

The 43-year-old, who led Pakistan to their maiden Test series victory in the West Indies in his final international assignment in May this year, said that he would be deciding his future after next year’s PSL.

Misbah also hailed the arrival of World XI, currently playing Pakistan in a three-match T20 International series here at the Gaddafi Stadium.

With the series intriguingly poised at 1-1, Misbah observed the opening two matches have provided good competition and expects another exciting battle in the series-decider on Friday.

Misbah said if Pakistan bat first they must score 190-plus since the World XI boast of a good batting line-up, while the home team has looked strong in the bowling department.

Meanwhile, Waqar Younis, who has joined Islamabad United as their bowling coach and director cricket, said the entire PSL should be played in the country as it would greatly help in changing the future of Pakistan cricket in a positive way.
