Trump: NA resolution

THE National Assembly passed a unanimous resolution on Aug 30, which condemned the recent threatening statement by US President Donald Trump.

Parliament represents the will and determination of over 200 million people. However, it was highly regrettable, rather shameful, that an almost empty house expressed its indignation over the US threat and vowed to uphold the country’s dignity and honour.

The house has a total strength of 342 members. The ruling party and its allies alone have nearly 200 members.

It was shocking to watch on TV an empty House with only a very few members (fewer than the minimum number required for quorum) were present to adopt such an important resolution.

It is noteworthy that the prime minister’s cabinet consists of nearly 60 members. Besides the prime minister, hardly half a dozen ministers attended the all-important proceeding.

What would have happened had someone pointed out the quorum? What message of the nation’s unity and determination went to the quarters concerned? This situation continues to haunt me and my patriotism.

IT is time the government put the United States in its place. We are sacrificing human lives all the time in border clashes and are dying in bomb blasts carried out from inside and outside the borders.

Pakistan should first send back all the Afghan refugees who allegedly abet in these crimes.

Does any country in the world particularly the United States, allow one such person to enter its territory? So, why are we allowing this?

We should seal our borders like America is doing. No one has the right to stop us from saving the integrity and lives of our people and the country.
