DURING 2007-09, a construction project was started by a builder on a spacious plot near Qasimabad’s famous Ali Palace roundabout in Hyderabad.

However, the work on ‘Q City’ has remained suspended. The ruins of this project are making the life of residents miserable. Stagnant rainwater fills the parking lot dug deep up to 14 feet. There is no one to pump out stinking water.

Vendors on the edges of its incomplete pavements throw all kinds of waste on the plot. Besides, they also defecate there. Rats and rodents have wreaked havoc with the households. It is not just an administrative issue but a risk to health and sanitation and needs attention at the earliest.

Hyderabad’s deputy commissioner and assistant commissioner, Qasimabad, should resolve this issue.
