PESHAWAR: Carjacker handed over to Punjab police

PESHAWAR, Aug 18: A local court on Monday handed over an alleged carjacker, involved in lifting of dozens of vehicles, to the Punjab Police.

The judicial magistrate, Adil Akber Khan, granted a single day transit custody of accused Amir Said alias Charag to the CIA, Lahore. He would be produced before a court in Lahore on Tuesday.

The accused Charag was arrested early this month in the Kohat tribal area. After his arrest he was handed over to CIA, Peshawar. The suspect was charged with establishing a market of hijacked vehicles in Dara Adamkhel.

The police claimed that during the custody he had admitted his involvement in hijacking of more than 60 vehicles.
