TIMERGARA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Muzafar Syed on Wednesday said Jamaat-i-Islami would not part ways with the PTI-led ruling coalition in the province.

Talking to journalists after a meeting with Lower Dir administrative and health department officials at Balambat here, he said that corruption allegations against him in the Bank of Khyber had been proved baseless by a competent inquiry commission. The minister said the days of the BoK’s incumbent managing director had been numbered and he would soon be replaced.

Earlier, the project director of the Timergara medical college Dr Shaukat Ali while briefing the minister about the progress on the project said all arrangements had been made for launching the classes from next year.

A meeting in this regard was held at the Balambat Jirga Hall. Deputy commissioner Attaur Rehman, MPA Saeed Gul, local government representatives and other officials attended the meeting.

On the occasion, the minister said construction of the medical college would cost Rs2 billion. He termed the project another milestone for development of the area and said the establishment of medical college in Dir had been longstanding demand of the people.

The minister said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had approved Rs500 million for beautification of the Timergara city. He said construction of link roads, streets, water supply, drainage and sanitation schemes had been included in the project.

FUMIGATION DRIVE: The livestock department has set up veterinary camps at all the entry and exit points of the district to vaccinate the animals against the Congo virus, besides carrying out anti-tick spray in the cattle markets.

This was stated by veterinary doctor Khalilur Rehman while talking to reporters at Chakdara on Wednesday. He urged the people to cooperate with the livestock department so that the threat of Congo virus could be eliminated with collective efforts.

LAID TO REST: Two labourers, who were killed in a road accident in AJK’s capital Muzafarabad the other day, were laid to rest in their native villages in Kotigram and Asbanr on Wednesday.

Asghar of Kotigram village and Lajbar of Asbanr were killed while three others were injured when a tractor trolley met a road accident in the AJK.

Locals said all the five labourers had been earning a living in AJK for quite some time.
