Two TT titles each for Army, Chromatex Chemicals, NHA

KARACHI: Formidable Army outfit, Chromatex Chemicals and National Highway Authority (NHA) clinched two titles apiece in the 24th National Junior and Cadet Table Tennis Championships at the Islamia Club gymnasium on Saturday.

The soldiers bagged junior boys team event and junior doubles titles.

Chromatex Chemicals annexed the cadet girls singles and junior girls doubles crowns. The NHA captured cadet boys team event and cadet singles titles. It is pertinent to mention that hosts Sindh and Chromatex Chemicals had won one title apiece the other day.

The event concludes on Sunday with two finals on cards.

Junior boys team event final:

Army bt Sindh 3-0

Faizan Zahoor bt Hamza Godil 11-7, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8; Obaid-ur-Rehman bt Furqan Patel 11-7, 7-11, 11-6, 11-9; Fahad Khawaja bt Kaif Riaz 16-14, 11-7, 11-9.

Cadet boys team event final:

NHA bt Railways 3-0

Shah Khan bt Shayan 11-13, 11-4, 15-13, 13-11; Arbaz Anwer bt Haseeb 11-7, 11-5, 11-5; Arbaz and Basit bt Shayan and Haseeb 11-6, 7-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-7.

Junior boys singles semi-final:

Obaid Shah (Army) bt Arbaz Anwer (NHA) 15-17, 11-9, 11-6, 9-11, 11-5, 11-9; Fahad Khawaja (Army) bt Hamza Godil (Sindh) 11-6, 11-6, 11-5, 7-11, 11-8.

Cadet girls singles final:

Kalsoom Khan (Chromatex) bt Maheen Sheraz (Chromatex) 11-6, 11-13, 10-12, 11-6, 11-5.

Cadet boys singles final:

Shah Khan (NHA) bt Ummam Khawaja (Army) 3-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-3.

Junior girls doubles final:

Fatima and Maira (Chromatex) bt Hareem and Nimra (Sindh) 11-5, 11-8, 11-3.

Junior boys doubles final:
