THESE days online taxi services are very popular in Karachi. One can easily book a taxi through a mobile application.

People are happy with this share economy and social support project. It has reduced the walking stress of the populace. If some more taxi companies are set up, it will be a value-added contribution. The competition will bring more benefits for the consumer in terms of fares and services.

I would like to draw attention towards the field by bringing into light electric-car taxi services. In Europe, there are companies like Taxi Electric with a mission to boost electric transportation. India has launched its first electric taxi fleet. It has more advantages on a broader level in terms of lowering carbon-monoxide emission which is detrimental to both health and the environment.

I hope that the authorities concerned would start the electronic taxi service here soon.
