‘PML-N, PTI ignoring people’s welfare’

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Peoples Party provincial president Engineer Humayun Khan has flayed both the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf for ignoring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to their infighting and claimed that the credit went to PPP which always worked for alleviation of poverty and strengthening of democracy in the country.

Speaking at the party workers’ meeting here on Thursday, the PPP leader said that PTI had wasted precious time in its campaign against the federal government and PML-N used its energies to save Nawaz Sharif while the core issues of poor masses were ignored.

He said that the PPP leadership knew how to serve the masses, adding that Asif Ali Zardari had solved many of the long-awaited issues of people in different provinces.

The PTI and PML-N, he said, were unable to mention a single mega project completed by their governments during the past four years. He said that in the prevailing situation both these parties did not deserve to be supported in any of the future elections.

Mr Humayun said that provincial autonomy, increase in KP’s share in NFC award and renaming of the province were examples of the PPP government’s achievements.

He hoped that the PPP would win the 2018 general elections and form government in the center and all provinces without striking an alliance with other political parties.

Meanwhile, a statement issued here said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was due to arrive in Mansehra on Saturday to address a public meeting at Ghazi Kot. It was stated that teams of senior leaders had already been assigned duties to ensure participation of maximum people.
