Syed Alahando Shah campus of Sindh University inaugurated

HYDERABAD: Sindh University (SU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Fateh Mohammad Burfat inaugurated the first-ever personal building of the university’s Syed Alahando Shah campus in Naushahro Feroze on Wednesday.

He announced appointment of a permanent faculty, including two professors, two associate professors, four assistant professors and 12 lecturers of relevant disciplines after advertising posts in national newspapers.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Dr Burfat urged the faculty and campus officials to maintain the standards of education at all costs, adding that the remaining construction work and establishment of a library would soon scale up the capacity of the campus to accommodate more students.

“The objective of setting up campuses in far-flung areas of the province is to expand and diversify the classroom mode of education to the field-exploring mode. The Alahando Shah campus is doing its best to impart quality education under supervision of Nawaz Narejo,” he added.

He said the youth needed to love their homeland Pakistan and claim ownership of the country, adding that it was the benevolence of Pakistan that he was vice-chancellor of SU and many others were working on higher positions, including military, police, bureaucracy and others.

“We need to grant admissions to maximum students and impart higher education at the doorsteps of the downtrodden people of Sindh in order to stop youth from moving towards negative trends, social evils, provincialism, extremism and terrorism,” he stressed.

Syed Alahando Shah Campus Naushahro Feroze pro-vice chancellor Nawaz Narejo said that there were five disciplines which included BBA, MBA, BS (English), BS (Computer Science) and MA (English) on the campus, adding that he would soon start short courses in order to improve skills of industrial workers of Naushahro Feroze, Larkana, Dadu and Shaheed Benazirabad.

He appealed to influential people to help the campus add buildings in a bid to accommodate more students. PVCs of additional campuses Dr Anwar Ali Shah G. Syed, Dr Sarfaraz Hussain Solangi, Dr Ghulam Sarwar and Dr Noor Jamali, among others, were present on the occasion.
