GWADAR: A man was shot dead while resisting a kidnapping bid by some people in the Tump area of Kech district on Tuesday.

Identified as Zahoor Ahmed, the victim was the nephew of prominent Balochi poet Bashir Baidar.

Levies officials said that unidentified armed men on two motorcycles intercepted Zahoor and tried to take him with them on gunpoint. They said when he offered resistance and tried to flee they opened fire on him.

Zahoor received multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot.
