Ton-up Asad excels

KARACHI: Former Pakistan Under-19 batsman Mohammad Asad scored a century as Sir Syed CC overpowered Shahino Sports by 112 runs in the first Mohammad Siddique Memorial Cricket Tournament tie at the Pak Flag Cricket Ground here on Monday.

Asad hammered 112 off 78 balls with 10 fours and one six, while Bahadur Ali was dismissed for 94 (69 balls, eight boundaries and two sixes) to help Sir Syed CC collect 266-4 in 30 overs.

Shahino Sports were restricted 154-8 in reply with off-spinner Asim Shah, paceman Mohammad Ismail and slow left-armer Mohammad Faraz claiming three wickets apiece.
