KARACHI: The Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday to release the draft return forms for individuals and associations of persons (AoPs) for 2016-17 in the MS Excel format.

KTBA members will not be able to check the proposed changes and give feedback without getting the draft forms in the MS Excel format, it said.

Forms have to be filled out on the Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) or MS Excel to identify any issues, it added. The last date for the filing of income tax returns by individuals is Aug 31. The deadline for trading entities and manufacturers or firms with various sources of income is Sept 30. However, usually these deadlines are extended several times every year.
