House of IS-affiliated militant razed in Bara

LANDI KOTAL: Members of the Sipah tribe of Bara on Sunday demolished the house of a suspected militant allegedly affiliated with the Islamic State (Daesh) group in Afghanistan.

Local sources said elders of Sipah tribe ordered the demolition of the house of Lal Mar Jan in Ghaibi Khel-Peero Khel area for his alleged links with IS.

They said the accused was an activist of a Bara-based proscribed organisation prior to switching side to IS and had long been in Afghanistan.

The Khyber political administration had only on Aug 9 restored the official perks and privileges of Sipah tribe after keeping them suspended for nearly a month on charges of their alleged involvement in a bomb blast in Malakdin Khel area on July 16 in which two FC men were critically injured. Later, the Sipah elders announced full support to the local administration and security forces in taking action against suspected militants in their area.
