QWP brings no-trust motion against Charsadda nazim

CHARSADDA: The Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) has brought a no-confidence motion against PTI Charsadda nazim Fahad Azam Khan and JI naib nazim Musawir Shah and demanded convening of the district council meeting on Tuesday.

The QWP submitted the no-confidence motion against the district government after it was ousted from the provincial coalition government by PTI chairman Imran Khan, last month.

After submitting the motion, QWP councillors Arif Paracha, Hidayatullah Khan and Amir Rehman Khan demanded of the assistant director local government department to convene the council’s session for voting on the no-confidence motion on Tuesday. Awami National Party and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl announced to support the QWP motion against the district nazim and naib nazim.

Talking to reporters, ANP-JUI-F opposition leader in the district council, Qasim Ali Khan Mohammadzai, said that the two parties would support the no-confidence motion against the district government.

He said that at least 48 members of the council were required to pass the no-confidence move.

He said that presently ANP had 25 members, JUI-F 16 and QWP had nine members in the district council. He said that once put to vote in the house the no-confidence motion would be successful. Sources said that in case of success of the no-confidence move, the district nazim slot would be given to ANP.
