Need for dams

EVERY year since 2010, in which we saw the worst deluge in the history of Pakistan, the country has been experiencing catastrophic floods that killed hundreds and wiped out millions of acres of prime farmland. This heavily harmed our the agricultural economy.

This way we waste large amounts of water every year — water which we can use for our good.

If a few people do not agree to building the Kalabagh dam, we can build other dams. Such structures are necessary for overcoming the chronic energy crisis. More than 30pc of power is being generated through hydro-electric sources. The energy crisis has put a brake on industrial productivity.

Dams are vital as without them, being an underdeveloped country, we can’t progress.
