MASSIVE traffic jams have become a routine matter in hilly areas during Eid and other extended holidays. We keep hearing about horrific tales by travellers experiencing such jams, specially during winters, and stranded in snowfalls in remote areas.

Since drone technology is now being used by many countries in such disaster-like situations to provide relief and assistance, it is suggested that our disaster management organisations should optimise the use of this technology to provide relief in such life-threatening situations. This will not only give confidence to road travellers but also give impetus to the sagging tourism industry in the country.
