THIS is apropos Asghar Soomro’s article, ‘Education failure’ (June 13). The Sindh Education Sector Reform Project (SERP-2) is about to reach its final phase shortly.

However, despite a huge amount of money provided to SERP-2 by the World Bank no improvement is visible in Sindh’s literacy rate. After the publication of Mr Soomro’s article, the Sindh education department terminated his service.

The education department is wrong if it thinks dismissing him from his job will stop him from speaking the truth.
