KOHAT: The counter terrorism department on Thursday disclosed to have arrested the fourth suspect during an operation for the arrest of criminals involved in the murder of an inspector and three other police officials in Sumari on May 20, 2017.

Officials said that the fourth suspect, Ayaz, was taken into custody from Thall tehsil of Hangu in an action a couple of days ago. They said that Lachi SHO Afzal Awan had raided a jungle on an information and was injured in exchange of firing with the gang by suspect Ayaz. He was presented in a court after brief detention on Thursday.

Earlier, one Aqal Khan, who had allegedly planned the murder of SHO Khanullah and other three policemen near War Shand in Lachi, was produced before court on June 6. Credible sources confided to this scribe that he had been detained from Muslimabad checkpost on Indus Highway on May 27, but his arrest was kept secret.

They said that under the National Action Plan the CTD could keep a suspect in its confinement for 90 days for interrogation. The other two suspects had been held on Dalazak Road, Peshawar, from a car on June 2. The officials requested not to reveal their names as their interrogation was underway and they would be booked and produced in court after completion of interrogations.

SSC RESULTS: Cadet College Kohat has retained top three positions in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Kohat.

Cadets Maaz Gul and Mohibur Rehman Qureshi shared the first position by grabbing 1,054 marks. The second and third positions were obtained by namesakes Saad Khan with 1,052 and 1,051 marks, respectively.

In arts group, student of girls college, College Abadi, Robesha Ashraf stood first by getting 886 marks. The second and third positions were obtained by Iffat Bibi of Saheen Girls College, Darra Adamkhel, and Hibna Bibi of Government Girls College, KDA Kohat, with 877 and 873 marks, respectively.

MNA Shehryar Afridi and board chairman Abdur Raqeeb distributed prizes and certificates among the position holders.
