Eight horses vie for The Quest Cup today

KARACHI: Eight horses are set to vie for honours in The Quest Cup when it takes place in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Tuesday.

The cup race, which is third in racing order, will be contested in scale order VII over four-and-a-half furlongs.

Altogether, two dozen horses have entered the four-race card barring last minute withdrawal.

It is pertinent to mention that the races were originally scheduled to take place on Sunday but were cancelled at the eleventh hour due to the ICC Champions Trophy final between Pakistan and India.

Later, a new handicap was issued for Tuesday’s meeting.

According to schedule, the first race gets into action at 2.30pm.

Following is the field and selections:

THE QUEST PLATE SCALE ORDER VIII 4 ½ F:

Charlotte 9-0, Mera Aftaab 8-12, Bijli 8-10, Delta Queen 8-4, Mission Possible 8-4.

Win: Charlotte.

Place: Bijli.

THE QUEST PLATE SCALE ORDER III, IV AND V 4 ½ F:

Rainbow 9-2, Popular Pride 8-8, My Beauty 8-3, Cherish 7-12, Sonia Again 7-6, Almeer 7-6.

Win: My Beauty.

Place: Sonia Again.

THE QUEST CUP SCALE ORDER VII 4 ½ F:

Afreen 9-0, Sea Gold 8-12, Sweet Sereena 8-10, Shandar Love 8-10, Fast Departure 8-8, Race 8-4, Sweet Lady 8-3, Star Furry 7-10.

Win: Afreen.

Place: Sweet Sereena and Sea Gold.

THE QUEST PLATE SCALE ORDER I, II AND III 4 ½ F:

Doctor 10-0, Fantastic Game 9-2, Blue Fairy 8-12, Tanya 8-5, King’s Hand 7-10.

Win: Blue Fairy.

Place: Tanya.
