Boy strangled to death

TAXILA: A 17-year-old boy was strangled to death in the limits of the Hazro police station on Sunday.

Tariq Pasha told the police that his son, who was a student of the 10th grade, developed a friendship with a resident of Ghorgashti on social media.

He said the accused took his son to the nearby Ghazi Barotha water channel where he claimed his son was drowned.

But when the body was taken out of the water it was found tied with ropes.

Mr Pasha said that according to a preliminary medical investigation, his son was sexually assaulted, then strangled to death and later dumped in the water channel.

Hazro Station House Officer Inspector Saqib Abbasi said a case was registered against the nominated accused on the basis of the medico-legal report and further investigations were started.
