BADIN: Former Sindh home minister Dr Zulfikar Ali Mirza has said that he had never quit Pakistan Peoples Party and still considers himself a part of the real PPP.

Dr Mirza told media persons after attending an Iftar dinner party at a village near here on Friday that he was sidelined and a vilification drive was launched against him after he spoke out against rampant corruption by PPP leaders, including the party head Asif Ali Zardari.

He said that his spouse was elected on a PPP ticket and she abided by the policies of the party. Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s invitation to her to sit on treasury benches during a National Assembly session a few days back was just a joke said in a lighter vein, he said.

He said the possibility of change of Sindh chief minister could not be ruled out amid current political circumstances and general elections might also be held before scheduled date.

Dr Mirza said that though PPP’s prime ministers could not get justice from the apex court he hoped this time the court would make a wise decision on Panama Papers case.

He said in answer to a question that only people and time would decide where he should stand during next general elections.
