Karachi police say 3 killed in 'encounter', 29 arrested in late-night raids

At least three people were killed, in what police term as an 'encounter', near Murgi Khana Bridge, where they were allegedly caught robbing a man.

According to the police, a first investigation report (FIR) has been lodged against the three men by the person named Abid, who claimed the men had stolen Rs7,000 and a mobile phone from him.

A motorcycle without a number plate and three TT pistols were also recovered.

In separate raids carried out by police in various parts of Karachi last night, 29 people were arrested.

The searches were carried out in Pak Colony, Eidgah, Mubina Town, Sir Syed Colony, Ferozabad, Kalri, Baldia Town, Ittehad Town, Paposh Nagar, Jamshed Quarters, Site area, Shahrae Noor Jahan, Johrabad and Gulberg.
