Woman killed over property dispute with brothers

RAWALPINDI: A woman was gunned down allegedly by her brothers over a property dispute in Akal Garh Mohalla in Gunj Mandi on Sunday, police said.

Shiza Khan, 30, who was married to Adil Imran, had a dispute of property with her brothers Irshad Iqbal and Aurangzaib alias Rusi. On Sunday afternoon, the two brothers had a quarrel with their sister Shiza over the distribution of the property.

The police said while they were quarreling Arshad pulled out a pistol and fired gunshots at his sister killing her on the spot. The injured was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Both the alleged killers escaped from the scene, police said.  

Separately, two shopkeepers were shot and injured after two motorcyclists opened fire on them during a robbery in Pirwadhai.

The motorcycle riders stopped in front of a mobile phone shop at Pirwadhai Road and walked inside. They snatched 20 mobile phone sets form the shop. Later, the robbers entered another shop and took its owners at gunpoint. The robbers shot and injured Mohammad Basharat, 40, and Ausaf Ali, 35, and escaped with the loot. While fleeing from the shop, the robbers also snatched a motorcycle from a passerby and sped off.
