Woman’s killer gets death

OKARA: A man was handed down death with a Rs500,000 fine on Friday by District and Sessions Judge Bedar Bakhat in a case registered with the Gogera Police in 2013.

Convict Muhammad Abbas had killed Rani Bibi, wife of Muhammad Sharif, of village Gogera Khas, when she refused to have an affair with him.

The fine will be paid to heirs of Rani Bib and in case of default, the convict would undergo further six-month imprisonment. Also, the court of additional district and sessions court judge, Khalid Bashir, handed down death sentence to Maqbool Ahmad and Muhammad Azam and a Rs200,000 fine each in a murder case of Chuchak police. They had shot dead Taj Muhammad and Noor Ahmad five years ago over an enmity. Mansab, a co-accused, was declared innocent.
