FUU bus service

THE Federal Urdu university is one of the leading universities of Pakistan and has two campuses in Karachi, but as yet there is no official bus service for this university.

Thousands of students face a severe transport problem because the university does not have transport of its own. This is having a bad effect on students’ studies.

Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhter recently donated two buses to the university’s Gulshan campus soon after the bus accident that had killed two girl students in front of their campus where they were waiting for transport.

The mayor’s gesture, though good, is not enough. There is a need for more buses to meet the requirement of all campus students who travel by bus.

Moreover, it is not the responsibility of the mayor to provide buses to the university because it is under the federal government.

AS a student, I urge President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the federal education minister to provide buses to the Federal Urdu University in Gulshan-i-Iqbal , as well as to the Abdul Haq campus, as soon as possible.
