Gang involved in credit cards fraud busted

LAHORE: The police claimed on Friday to have arrested six members of two gangs, including the robbers who used fake credit cards for shopping.

City Division SP Investigation Syed Karrar Husain, addressing a press conference at his office, said they had received complaints against a gang involved in robbing people of their bank balance by using stolen credit cards for shopping.

A special investigation arrested the four members of the gang from different areas of the city, using hi-tech investigation tools. The suspects were identified as Naveed, Muhammad Arshad, Zubair Aslam and Faisal Lateef.

The police also recovered dozens of fake credit cards, 40 fake passports and valuables worth Rs800,000 from their possession.

Mr Husain said another police team also busted a robbers’ gang and arrested its members identified as Yusaf Jhapta and Nasir.

The SP said the suspects were involved in attempted murder cases while adding they had recovered two pistols, 10 air conditioners, two laptops, 15 mobile phones and two motorcycles from their possession.
