Baigal praised for his humorous work

QUETTA: Calling for preservation of literary works of Baig Muhammad Baigal, speakers said on Wednesday his humorous and satirical writing had no parallel in the Balochi language.

A large number of intellectuals, writers, linguists, poets, teachers and politicians were present at a programme organised by the Balochi Labzanki Deewan (BLD) at the press club.

Former chief minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, who presided over the programme, said: “When I was a student, I used to read the write-ups of Baig Muhammad Baigal with great interest as his writings were inspirational and appealing.”

“There is no doubt that he was a great literary figure who had a vast stock of pure Balochi words and his words would make his writings more attractive to his readers.” BLD chairman Yar Jan Badini lamenting the present situation said that it was only after the death of literary figures that people recognised their services.
