Poor arrangements: CM suspends wheat purchase centre incharge

GUJRANWALA: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, during his surprise visit, suspended from service the officer in charge of the wheat procurement centre in Wazirabad over unsatisfactory arrangements for farmers on Thursday.

Shahbaz landed in Wazirabad in his helicopter and boarded a coach to reach the wheat purchase centre. He inquired from the farmers about the problems they were facing regarding sale of their produce.

The farmers complained about the sitting arrangements and cleanliness at the wheat purchase centre. At this, he suspended from service centre’s incharge Rana Jamshed and directed Assistant Commissioner Noorul Ain to provide missing facilities to the farmers.

MPA Chaudhry Shaukat Cheema also accompanied the chief minister.

NAROWAL: Shahbaz Sharif made a surprise visit to the wheat procurement centre at Mundi Khail in tehsil Shakargarh.

He inspected the arrangements and record of the centre and enquired from the farmers present there about availability of gunny bags and wheat purchase process.

The farmers requested the chief minister to increase wheat purchase quota for Narowal district. He gave assurance to the farmers that their demand would be met.

Replying to the query of Shahbaz, the farmers expressed satisfaction with the availability of gunny bags and the wheat purchase process.

The CM appreciated Shakargarh Assistant Commissioner Noman Farooq Tarar for making proper arrangements for the farmers at the centre.
