RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) held an evening with the prominent poet Ali Arman on Sunday to honour his literary career.
Mr Arman is from Pakistan but has resided in London for a couple of years. The poet Dr Ehsan Akbar presided over the evening while poet Jalil Aali was invited as chief guest and Prof Yousaf Hassan was invited as the guest of honour. The evening was moderated by Jahangir Imran.
The poets and intellectuals in attendance discussed Mr Arman’s life and work, and said he has an important place among contemporary young poets and his poetry discusses various subjects.
The speakers said he was a gentleman and an excellent poet.
The evening was followed by a poetry recital moderated by Dr Fakhran Naureen, which featured Ali Yasir, Dr Arshaf Miraj, Mazhar Shahzad, Saeed Ahmed, Ali Arman, Mehboob Zafar, Anwar Fitrat, Jahangir Imran, Mr Hassan, Mr Aali and Dr Akbar.
