Two more held in lynching case

MARDAN: The police said on Tuesday they had arrested two more accused in the lynching case of Mashal Khan, a student of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.

They told reporters that the accused were identified as Ishfaq Khelji and Fazal-i-Raziq, adding the men were identified through a video released on social media immediately after the student’s lynching.

The police said that Ishfaq Khelji could be seen in the video throwing a garden pot over the head of the body of Mashal Khan, while Fazal-i-Raziq was hitting his body with a stick.

The police said both the accused were presented in the district’s anti-terrorism court, which remanded them to the police custody for four days.

With the latest arrests, the total number of detained persons in the lynching case has reached to 36, they said.
