‘KP witnessing economic decline’

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party central secretary general Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Tuesday said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was witnessing unparalleled economic decline and administrative misappropriations under the rule of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

Addressing a public gathering here, he said no single mega project had been initiated in the province during the last four years. On the contrary, he said the provincial government had taken huge loans, and was even running the affairs of the province with pension and GP funds of the government employees.

Mr Hussain said that the PTI-led provincial government was carrying a begging bowl before the world to fund its development projects.

He recalled that when the ANP completed its five-year rule in the province, the provincial kitty had enough money, but deplored that today the provincial government had no funds to even pay salaries to its employees.

The ANP leader said the nation would hold PTI accountable in the upcoming general elections for not bringing any change in the province.
