Hyderabad bar urges PM to quit

HYDERABAD: The High Court Bar Association (HCBA), Hyderabad chapter, on Monday demanded immediate resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, arguing that in his presence as the premier, the inquiry by the joint investigation team (JIT), to be formed by the apex court, would remain questionable.

The bar’s managing committee at a meeting presided over by its president, advocate Ayaz Tunio, discussed the Panamagate case verdict and observed in a resolution that two senior SC judges disqualified the PM while three other members of the bench also did not clear him. Therefore, it said, the PM should quit his office.

The bar warned that the lawyers’ fraternity would launch a movement against the PM if he did not step down and continue it till his resignation.
