CONTRARY to the tall claims by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa authorities regarding the improvement in the traffic situation, in Abbottabad the situation is poor.

One finds every other car driver using cellphone and some even texting. Even motorcyclists can be seen busy on their mobile phones.

The worst are underage boys riding motorcycles with two to three or more pillion riders without any documents or any helmets.

The traffic police are present on roads in new shiny uniforms but their main focus seems to be trucks and other heavy vehicles which are stopped for traffic violations.

The traffic police should focus more on underage car drivers and motorcyclists and habitual cellphone users who endanger law-abiding car drivers, motorcyclists and pedestrians.
